About B.B. Oil, Inc.
B.B. Esso Servicecenter was purchased by MG Roseman, Jr. from brothers, Jay & Luther Barringer in 1952. The letters B.B. came from Barringer Brothers and the name was never changed. B.B. Esso was a full-service station where while you waited… your gas tank was filled, oil was checked, and windshield washed.
In 1961, the oil company B.B. Oil, Inc. came into being. It was run along with the service station in the same office. MG’s wife, Peggy, was the woman in charge.
Exxon replaced Esso in 1973. B.B. Exxon Servicecenter was still a full-service station. In the late 1980s, the station stopped selling gas and the gas tanks were removed. In 1991, the two businesses were combined into one as B.B. Oil, Inc. Between 1993-1994 a new service shop was built, the old building was torn down and a car wash was built in its place. This is where we are today.
The business began with MG & Peggy Roseman. Their son, Tommy, has taken over as the owner/operator of the business and oil truck driver/shop mechanic. Tommy’s daughter, Chrissy Chandler, works in the office and Matt Titus, a Richfield native, is the HVAC tech/shop mechanic. We are a small family-owned business. Over the years there have been MANY young men from the Richfield area that worked for MG. We still hear stories today from some of those men who stop by to share a memory.
